PRODUCERS NOTE
In The Meantime Productions (Gia Crovatin & Elizabeth Masucci)
In 2016, friends and colleagues Gia Crovatin and Elizabeth Masucci founded In The Meantime Productions as a way to create content for themselves and others during free time in their acting careers. Upon formation of the company, a factor of utmost importance to both Crovatin and Masucci was being able to showcase different realities of the female experience through various projects in a variety of mediums. Using these ventures as a springboard, both women now have the opportunity to continue growing as actors while simultaneously exploring the wearing of different creative hats. In addition, Crovatin and Masucci feel compelled to open up opportunities on their projects for both cast and crew members (including more women, more ethnic diversity, and people across the age spectrum).
As artists, Crovatin and Masucci feel that the most interesting part of the creative process is figuring out the 'why' behind people's thoughts and deeds. Across the disciplines of film, television, theatre, and new media content, In The Meantime seeks to tell stories that shed a light on the very human and honest ways we all try to justify our actions to others, and most importantly, to ourselves.
GOOD LUCK (IN FARSI) was the perfect inaugural production for In The Meantime, as Crovatin and Masucci (who both appeared in the New York stage version in 2013) wanted to showcase the complex female dynamics, the inner workings of the entertainment industry, and the substantive writing of the piece. In the film, themes of ambition, competition, and jealousy create interesting obstacles for two actresses who are vying for the same role on a network television show. The finished picture is a sharp and savvy satire on the cutthroat process of casting and the lengths that some people will go to on their quest to succeed.
Crovatin and Masucci are very proud of their first film production and look forward to creating many more projects in the near future.
